We Interrupt Your Regularly Scheduled Post...Because We Can

Good morning to one and all.....hope you're recovering from yesterday's shindig without the pounding headache and major cotton mouth that is usually the end result of attending those types of get-togethers....unless you're waking up in a strange house, in a strange bed, with strange people lying on top of you....then, by all means, please continue to have loads of fun and remember, Trojan can fulfill all of your special needs.

In any event, because it is the New Year's weekend, yours truly is taking a much needed siesta from the Cyber World.

I will return on cue (we hope) with brand new post on January 3rd.

To hold you over, I leave you a rant about voice mail.

Feel free to leave a comment about either post, but since I'm taking an actual complete break from the Cyber World (no blogging, no Facebook, no e-mail unless it's someone saying I won a contest with a story of mine, and definitely no chat rooms), your thoughtful comment will be shredding the concrete half pipe until I return.

Peaches, Licorice and Tequila Jello Shots to one and all!

  1. Enjoy your mini vacation from Cyber Net and HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and your family.

  2. 2 days to recover. You are getting old. You used to party so hard it took you a week.

    Happy New Year.

  3. Enjoy every second, G!

Happiest of new years to you and your family!

  4. I hope you have good time off, G and Happy New Year. I chuckled once more at your voice mail rant - and believe it or not the same kind of thing happened to me several days ago. I answered my mom's phone with Hello? A woman asked if this was the Chinese cuisine on Eisenhower Parkway. No - I said (politely) you have the wrong number. She then asked if I knew if they would be open on Christmas Day. I told her that I sure didn't know, but wished her a Merry Christmas. It made me think of A Christmas Story. And my sweet mother was worried about these people who had to go to a Chinese restaurant on Christmas Day. :)

  5. It's nice to wake up hang over free! Hope you had a good one!

  6. I hate voicemail. Happy New Year!

  7. Have a great break and enjoy the real world. Can't wait for you to tell us what it is like. Do they still venture outside, and go to cafes and talk to people face to face?

  8. Happy New Year and have a great break!

  9. I remember that voice mail post -- funny!

Have yourself a merry little cyber break!!

  10. yawns and stretches, puts the coffee on and takes a seat on the comfy couch

How do everyone! I'm just going to make a general response to all of your thoughtful comments and good wishes.

First off, thanks for the New Year wishes, they were greatly appreciated.

Secondly, it was for the most part, a very refreshing break the Cyber World (which today's post will go into detail on what I did & didn't accomplish while on vacation).

I did cheat just a little, in that yesterday (1/2) I sent a quickie e-mail to a friend to see how she was doing.

Now to answer the various comments in a nice neat and tidy story.

Yeah, we are getting a little bit long in the tooth. Can't party hearty like we used to anymore as we gots too many responsibilities, buuuut we can wish you the very best in trying to score. :D

The real world was indeed frightening. I went to the mall, in which I saw...gasp...people! I thought I was going to have a heart attack.

Your response about the movie "A Christmas Story" was one I didn't even think of when I linked up to that particular post. That was indeed a classic. Thanks!

I actually hate voice mail too. I may do a third post about more stupid things that people do with voice mail at work (like faxing).

It was for the most part, a real necessity for me. I was starting to implode as I was literally coming apart at the seams. I highly recommend it if you can. It can be a tough thing to do, especially if your job requires it, but in the long run, a mental floss break is what we all need from time to time.

  11. I hope your break was rejuevenating. The last break I took for a summer was involuntary, n I could only post once a week, n from someone elses puter 'til mine got fixed! (no reading!)
I do get way more bored that way! (n feel so isolated)

I'm such a party-pooper now, n don't party much, n didn't- but had to work the holiday again-

    Happy 20 - 10 to you!

  12. It was pretty much worth it. Most of the people who know me exclusively from the 'net (chat rooms and Facebook), already know that I do this kind of stuff on a frequent basis, so me vanishing for a few days wasn't really noticed.

With the blog world, since it's more of a personal nature, I don't try to do a complete break. I think in the past year, I've only done about three breaks, and they were done around the holidays and only last a day.

And a happy 2010 to you as well.

Go on, give me your best shot. I can take it. If I couldn't, I wouldn't have created this wonderful little blog that you decided to grace with your presence today.

About that comment moderation thingy: While yes, it does say up above I can take it, I only use it to prevent the occasional miscreant from leaving thoughtless and/or clueless comments.

So remember, all of your comments are greatly appreciated and all answers will be given that personal touch that you come to expect and enjoy.
