Visual Verbal

Over at Shooting Suburbia we have the first installment of a brand new series called "The Neighborhood."

Over here, we have verbal version of a very small Sunday comic strip clip taken from one of my absolute favorite comic strips, alive or dead, Bloom County.

Enjoy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Milo Bloom: Please fetch me, dear knave, a "Whopper." and hold the bun.
Clerk: You can't have it that way.
Milo Bloom: What's this? New rules? New restrictions? Who's behind this? The LIBERALS?!
Milo Bloom: WELL,ISN'T IT JUST LIKE YOU LIBERALS TO FORCE ME TO DO SOMETHING I DON'T WANT TO DO, JUST BECAUSE YOU SAY I SHOULD BE DOING IT!!!
Milo Bloom: WELL, THIS EXACTLY WHAT ALMOST DESTROYED THIS COUNTRY! AND YOU'D ALL DO IT AGAIN IF YOU COULD SNEAK BACK INTO POWER, WOULDN'T YOU?!
Milo Bloom: BY GOLLY, LET REAGAN BE REAGAN!
Clerk: Here, "Whopper" sans bun.
Milo Bloom: Milkshake, hold the cup.
  1. Bloom county was a long time favorite of mine. Especially loved the Billy and the Boinger's collection.
  2. Charles: I had most of the volumes, but unfortunately that one sort of vanished, which is unfortunate because there are quite a few plot lines that started in that volume that were continued in later volums.
    Especially Billy and the Boingers and that plastic 45.
  3. I forgot all about that strip...a milkshake w/out the cup sounds a bit messy.
  4. R: How can you forget about such a classic comic strip?
    It was the best conservative-to-moderate politically oriented strip around in its days.
    Plus, it poked fun at militant groups like PeTA and the Animal Liberation Front.
    And don't forget, Berke Breathed is a supporter of the Humane Society and as such, he posted the final strip of "Opus" on their website.
  5. Berkley does some amazing fine art stuff. I never knew.
  6. Bearman: The man is one of only a handful of cartoonists (active or not) that I truly appreciate and enjoy.
    One of favorite political satirists around, and his Bill the Cat is the South Park version of Snoopy.
Go on, give me your best shot. I can take it. If I couldn't, I wouldn't have created this wonderful little blog that you decided to grace with your presence today.
About that comment moderation thingy: While yes, it does say up above I can take it, I only use it to prevent the occasional miscreant from leaving thoughtless and/or clueless comments.
So remember, all of your comments are greatly appreciated and all answers will be given that personal touch that you come to expect and enjoy.
