I'm Outdoors People

Way too busy this week (finally got the writing bug back, among other things) to write a well crafted paean to writing today, so I thought I would do the next best thing:

Torture everyone with a video!

However, before I do that, I would like to give everyone a short update on Line 21. I e-mailed a submission to a particular publisher about a week and a half ago, and instead of the standard auto-response saying that they received it, I got a very nice and thoughtful personal response from the editor thanking me for the submission and said that he had enjoyed my short story "Cedar Mountain" that was featured at Beat To A Pulp.

And now, the video!

This is post #699

  2. G, I loved your video. What a beautiful place you live in and I can see how all that beauty would be the perfect place to be inspired or to just kick back and relax.

And isn't it wonderful when you actually get some human contact when submitting?

  4. Mama Z: Most definitely. I was pleasantly surprised when I got that particular response and it definitely made my day.

Charles: It's very nice to be noticed that way. Usually I don't get that kind of personal contact when I'm doing something out of the ordinary like this, so it's something that will stick with me for a long time.

And yes, BTAP is definitely earning a very well deserved reputation.

    Talon: Thanks.

I always brag about where I live and how its the perfect slice of heaven, so what better way to show it off by making a video.

Any kind of human contact like that will go very far with me. Even if the book winds up getting reject, the fact that this person gave a personal response will make me at the very least, recommend them to others.

Lynn: Thanks. It's the perfect sedative for what ails me.

Perhaps you should do a brief one of your lovely neck of the woods. :D

  7. David: Thanks, and you're more than welcome for the shout out on BTAP. It's a great e-zine and I will be forever greatful that you were the first one to take a chance on me and one of my stories.

  8. Ha ha great video! Nice to see where you hang out and write. You like to change spots quite often then? We don't get many opportunities to sit outside here in the UK really, but the weather today was good.

I'm flying to the States tomorrow. :)

  9. Joe: I do. It keeps me fresh, so to speak, and often presents a different view of the same scenary that I may haven't seen before.

Quite often, the joy is in the discovery of something new in a familiar setting.

And good luck and have a safe and hassle-free flight tomorrow.

Go on, give me your best shot. I can take it. If I couldn't, I wouldn't have created this wonderful little blog that you decided to grace with your presence today.

About that comment moderation thingy: While yes, it does say up above I can take it, I only use it to prevent the occasional miscreant from leaving thoughtless and/or clueless comments.

So remember, all of your comments are greatly appreciated and all answers will be given that personal touch that you come to expect and enjoy.
