  1. Loved the shots, G. Especially loved the ones of your Thanksgiving hike - the woods on the mountain looked wonderfully spooky. I laughed when you said that people actually use the furniture up there - at first I thought people were using the moutnain for a dumping ground and that would be very sad.

I've seen much worse plow jobs in our region. At least you can kind of see the road through the ice and snow - lol!

  2. Thanks.

The weather was a little bit dreary that day, so it gave the mountain a little spookiness that meshed perfectly with the season.

You would be amazed at what people will bring up to the mountain to use for hanging out. It's been going on up there ever since I was a teenager, and shortly after I took that shot, a father and his two sons hiked up there to investigate further.

You thought that was bad? You should see the capitol where I earn my daily bread. They believe in reactive plowing and letting the traffic plow the roads. I tell ya, the only thing that gets properly plowed in the capitol, are the interstate highways that are plowed by the State Dept of Transportation.

  4. Thanks.

I actually love winters in New England....they always have that Currier & Ives feel to them.

  8. More than welcome for the tour, more than welcome.

Sometimes, it's good to just take a break from the reality of the day and soak up Mother Nature (or in my case Father Nature).

  9. Great pictures! I would love to hike on that trail from Thanksgiving. I think I could get some nice quiet inspiration for my poetry from those peaceful trails.

  10. I believe you would at that.

I still do the occasional hike and you really can feel the deafening silence that mountain brings to the table.

It really is solitude at its most basic.

  11. Are you smoking in a non smoking zone again?

  12. Me? Never! Perish thought!

Well....maybe...depends on what you mean by "smoking".

Go on, give me your best shot. I can take it. If I couldn't, I wouldn't have created this wonderful little blog that you decided to grace with your presence today.

About that comment moderation thingy: While yes, it does say up above I can take it, I only use it to prevent the occasional miscreant from leaving thoughtless and/or clueless comments.

So remember, all of your comments are greatly appreciated and all answers will be given that personal touch that you come to expect and enjoy.
